Dr. Thomas Bortner is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 17 years of experience in applying evidence-based practices (EBPs) to treat a diverse range of symptoms and presentations, including trauma/PTSD, anxiety disorders, phobias, depression, suicidal ideation/self-harm, anger management, problematic substance use, and emotional regulation challenges.

Dr. Bortner has extensive experience treating adults and adolescents with various symptoms and diagnostic presentations. Notably, he has dedicated more than a decade to providing evidence-based trauma treatments to veterans at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Bortner is a certified provider of Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He also holds additional certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Depression (ACT-D) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and has experience in the utilization of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Dr. Bortner holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College) and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from La Salle University. During his doctoral training, he completed a predoctoral internship at the Coatesville VA Medical Center as a general practitioner and postdoctoral hours at a private non-profit residential treatment facility for adolescents, where he continued to work as a licensed staff psychologist and later an assistant clinical director.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Bortner serves as a Staff Psychologist and holds a Team Lead role at a nationally recognized Residential PTSD Program at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. His responsibilities include delivering evidence-based treatment to veterans with PTSD and co-occurring presentations in individual and group therapy, as well as administrative duties. Since 2019, Dr. Bortner has been a member of the Full model DBT team, which includes individual and group therapy, consultation, and phone coaching for veterans presenting with borderline personality disorder, treatment-resistant presentation, and self-injurious behaviors.

Dr. Danielle Farabaugh is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 17 years of experience applying evidence-based practices (EBPs) to diverse populations with a variety of symptoms and presentations. She has expertise in the treatment of PTSD, trauma, and stress, in the provision of trauma-informed care, and in understanding the nuances of Veteran and military culture. Other areas of specialty include the treatment of anxiety, phobias, panic, insomnia, depression, suicidal ideation/self-harm, anger management, and substance use disorders.  

Dr. Farabaugh has received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT therapist training, and in the treatment of PTSD. She is certified in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).  She is experienced in the use of CBT for PTSD, Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders (CBT-SUD), Panic Control Treatment (PCT), Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET). 

Dr. Farabaugh received a Bachelor’s Degree from Millersville University where she graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors in Psychology.  She earned a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University. As part of her doctoral training, she completed a clinical internship at the Coatesville VA Medical Center working with Veterans as a general practitioner. Following her doctoral training, she completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, under the mentorship of the late Dr. Aaron T. Beck. Highlights of her fellowship included serving as a CBT Therapist Trainer for the Beck Initiative Training series and appointments as Research Therapist and Project Director of clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of CBT.

In addition to her private practice work, Dr. Farabaugh works as a Staff Psychologist and Team Leader of a nationally recognized Residential PTSD Program at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Straddling both clinical and administrative domains, her duties include overseeing therapeutic programming, managing a multidisciplinary treatment team, conducting diagnostic interviews, and delivering evidence-based individual and group PTSD treatment to a diverse Veteran population.

Dr. Amanda Vaught is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating trauma and PTSD. Throughout her career, she has helped hundreds of individuals heal from the lasting effects of trauma by offering compassionate, evidence-based therapies. Dr. Vaught also provides training and consultation on PTSD diagnosis and treatment to mental health professionals both nationally and internationally.

Specializing in trauma-focused therapies, Dr. Vaught is skilled in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Conjoint Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBCT). In addition to trauma treatment, she addresses a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pre- and postnatal mental health, self-harm, suicidality, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and personality disorders.

Dr. Vaught is also well-versed in second-wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has a strong background in diagnostic and personality testing, offering tailored insights for individuals seeking a deeper understanding of their mental health.

Dr. Vaught earned her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and completed post-baccalaureate training at Stanford University's Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Clinic. She obtained her doctorate from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium and completed pre-doctoral and postdoctoral training at the VA Healthcare System. Dr. Vaught has served as both Director and Assistant Director of a psychology internship program and was a founding member and team leader of a Dialectical Behavior Therapy program. She is also an active trainer and consultant for Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and holds an adjunct faculty position at Villanova University.
